「I’m Still Standing」は、エルトン・ジョンと長年コンビを組んでいる作詞家バーニー・トーピンによって書かれました。当初は“昔の恋人に向けた別れの歌”として書かれたそうですが、結果的にエルトン本人を象徴するような曲になっています。

本曲はMTVで大量にオンエアされたMVもかなり有名です。撮影はフランスのカンヌとニースで行われていて、当初はエルトン本人もダンスを踊る予定だったらしいんですが、振付師に動きを見せた瞬間、出番を減らされたとか。

2019年にはMVが4Kリマスター化され、映画『ロケットマン』のラストにも再現映像として使用されました。
