「You Gotta Be」はデズリー自身が、「自分の内面の強さ」について考えていた時期に書かれた楽曲です。失恋で落ち込んでいた時に、自己啓発本『Creative Visualization』に影響を受けたことも制作背景として語られています。毎日自分に前向きな言葉をかける“アファメーション”的な考え方にかなり影響を受けていたそうです。

本曲はアメリカのBillboard Hot 100で最高5位を記録。さらに1999年にはフォード「Focus」のCMに起用されたことで再ヒットし、イギリスで再びTOP10入りしています。

ちなみにMVは白黒だけで構成されたかなりシンプルな映像なんですが、4人のデズリーを同時に映して“人格の違う側面”を表現していたそうです。90年代っぽいミニマルな映像センスが逆にオシャレですよね。
