Born To Run/Bruce Springsteen 解説

「Born To Run」はアメリカ合衆国ニュージャージー州出身のブルース・スプリングスティーンが1975年に発表した楽曲です。
邦題の「明日なき暴走」がいいですね。

初めて聴いた気がしないと思ったら
ミスチルの「虹の彼方へ」
コステロの「(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding?」
佐野元春の「アンジェリーナ」
この辺に似てる。みんな自分の味出してるけどね。ラーメン『ブルース・スプリングスティーン』で修行して、独立した感じかな。

ブルースは故郷を抜け出す情景を描いたと語ってますが、ウェンディに向けたラブレターと暴走族がフューチャーされすぎな気がします。

それでも50年前とは思えないくらい楽曲が躍動してます。何トラックも重ねて、分厚いサウンドにしたかったみたいですね。
当時の若者が「Born To Run」流しながら、ハイウェイ走るシーンを思い浮かべるだけで胸熱です。ジジイならさらに最高です！
