「Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)」はイギリスのケイト・ブッシュが1985年に発表した楽曲です。
1985年リリースの段階で全米30位全英３位を記録したシングルですが、2022年Netflixのドラマ「ストレンジャー・シングス 未知の世界」に使用されたことにより、全米４位全英１位の快挙を達成しました。Spotify、Apple Musicのデイリー再生数では１位。タイムレス時代ならではですね。
ケイト・ブッシュのキャリアでは全米30位が最高位だったので、37年経過して初の全米トップ10に送り込んだシングルになったんです。
ここまで長い期間を経て全米トップ10に入る現象はクリスマスソングを除いて初です。
歌詞はラヴストーリーのいざこざかと思いきや、男女が役割を理解すれば世界がよくなるの希望を込めて作った曲のようです。
