「You Belong with Me」は、テイラーがツアー中に男性バンドメンバーと恋人の電話を偶然聞いてしまったことがきっかけで生まれました。恋人に責められて困っている彼を見て、「彼のことをもっと理解できる人がいるのに」という発想から、この物語を書き上げたそうです。
