「Party Rock Anthem」はアメリカのエレクトロポップデュオ、LMFAOが2011年にリリースした楽曲です。ローレン・ベネットとグーンロックをゲストに迎えた、LMFAO最大のヒット曲として知られています。

Party Rock Anthem/LMFAO ft. Lauren Bennett, GoonRock 解説

LMFAOはレッドフーとスカイブルーによるデュオで、実はモータウン創設者ベリー・ゴーディの親族同士としても知られています。当時はデヴィッド・ゲッタやブラック・アイド・ピーズなど、クラブ寄りのポップミュージックが一気にメインストリーム化していた時代でした。

「Party Rock Anthem」は韓国のシャッフルダンスグループ「Quest Crew」の影響を受けて制作されたそうで、MVでもシャッフルダンスがかなり前面に押し出されています。ちなみにMVの冒頭は映画『28日後…』のパロディになっていて、“LMFAOを知らない人類が絶滅した世界”という謎設定。くだらなさ全開なんですが、こういうノリ含めてLMFAOなんですよね。

本曲はBillboard Hot 100で6週連続1位を獲得し、世界的な大ヒットを記録しました。「Everyday I’m shufflin’」は当時ネットミーム化するレベルで流行していて、スポーツ選手のパフォーマンスでもかなり使われていました。にしても、2010年前後のEDMブームの勢いほんと凄かったです。
