「Don’t Let Me Down」はザ・チェインスモーカーズが2016年にリリースした楽曲で、シンガーのデイヤをゲストボーカルに迎えた楽曲です。

当時のEDMらしいトラップ系サウンドなんですが、ギターの浮遊感がかなり綺麗で、他のフェス系EDMより少しエモ寄りな空気がありますね。2016年は本当にどこに行っても流れてました。ビルボードHot 100では最高3位を記録し、2017年のグラミー賞では最優秀ダンス・レコーディング賞も受賞しています。

この曲は、アンドリュー・タガートが飛行機の中でドロップ部分を思いついたことから制作が始まったそうです。その後、the xxやExplosions in the Skyに影響を受けたエコー感のあるギターサウンドを加えて、現在の形になりました。

ちなみに最初はリアーナに歌ってもらう予定だったらしいんですが、実現せず。当時「Hide Away」で注目され始めていたデイヤの歌声を気に入ったことで、正式に参加が決まったそうです。結果的にこの少しハスキーな声が曲とハマり過ぎていて、むしろデイヤ以外あまり想像できないかも。
