「Attention」は、チャーリー・プースが2016年の日本ツアー中にアイデアを思いつき、移動中などに少しずつ形にしていった楽曲です。リリース前にはロサンゼルスで「The Attention Room」という体験型イベントも開催され、”注目されること”をテーマにした空間で楽曲がお披露目されました。

実はこの曲、サビで盛り上げる代わりに音数を減らす「アンチドロップ」という手法が使われています。普通のポップソングとは逆の展開なんですが、それでもしっかり耳に残るのはさすがチャーリー・プースですね。

ちなみにMVにはオーストラリアの女優、サマラ・ウィーヴィングが出演しています。公開から長く再生され続け、YouTubeでは16億回を超える再生を記録するなど、チャーリー・プースを代表する1曲になりました。なお、「誰について歌った曲なのか」という噂は当時いろいろありましたが、本人が正式に明言したことはありません。
