「I Heard It Through the Grapevine」はアメリカ合衆国ワシントン州のマーヴィン・ゲイが1968年に発表したカバー曲です。
オリジナルはグラディス・ナイト&ザ・ピップスで1967年発表です。

「Grapevine」を直訳すると「ブドウのつる」。英語の慣用句で「非公式なルート（噂話、人づて）」を意味します。
南北戦争時代に電信線がブドウのつるのように絡まってたことから、不正確な情報の伝達を指すようになりました。

自分の女が元彼と手を組んで、自分を裏切る情報を耳にしました。しかもかなり信憑性の高い情報です。

Grapevineは日本のバンドとして有名なので和訳してみました。
