「Underdog」が伝えたかったこととは？

物事に対するアリシア自身の考え方やスタンスが、見事に表現されている曲ですよねー。

さて、曲のタイトルにもなっている「Underdog」。これは弱い犬を指す言葉です。

強い犬を育てるために、強い犬に自信をつけさせるために、わざと負けるよう育てられた弱い犬。誰からも勝つことを期待されない悲しい犬。そういったものを「Underdog」といいます。

人に置き換えると、誰からも期待されず弱い立場に追いやられている人、といったところでしょうか。一般的にはネガティブなワードです。

でもアリシアはUnderdogという言葉に対しネガティブなイメージは持っていないそうです。

そのような言葉で表現される人たちは過少評価されていて、予想を上回るパワーを持っていると考えているとか。

そんな彼女の考え方もMVによく出ていて、登場人物はいわゆる世間に期待されないような人たちばかり。
