「Poker Face」は当時大ヒットしていた「Just Dance」に続くシングルでしたが、サウンドは少しダークな方向へ寄せられています。結果的に全米・全英を含む多数の国で1位を獲得し、レディー・ガガを世界的スターへ押し上げる代表曲になりました。

ちなみにレディー・ガガ本人は、この曲について「バイセクシュアルとしての経験」が元になっていると語っています。男性と一緒にいながら別の女性を思い浮かべる心情を「Poker Face」という言葉で表現したそうです。タイトルだけ見るとギャンブルソングに見えるんですが、実はかなりレディー・ガガらしい挑発的なテーマなんですよね。
