Alive/Sia 解説

「Alive」の歌詞はイギリスのポップシンガー、アデルの目から見た人生を歌ったものです。この曲は本来アデルが歌うはずで、彼女の3rdアルバム「25」に収録されるために作曲されました。アルバム制作の終盤にリリースされないことが決定された、不遇の曲だったのです。その後、リアーナにも「Aliveを歌わないか」という話が持ち込まれるのですが、リアーナもこれを断ります。結果としてシーア自身が歌うことに。

日本では土屋太鳳のダンスが話題になったこともあり、「Alive」はビルボードJapanの洋楽チャートで1位を獲得。アメリカやイギリスでは伸び悩んだセールスを大きく支えました。ちなみも土屋太鳳がPVに出演したことで、海外版Wikipediaの「Alive」の記事にも彼女の名前が載っています(笑)
