「Dangerous」はマイケル・ジャクソンが1991年にリリースしたアルバム『Dangerous』のタイトル曲です。シングル化が予定されていましたが、中止となったため正式なシングルとしては発売されませんでした。

Dangerous/Michael Jackson 解説

「Dangerous」は、もともと『Bad』制作時に書かれた未発表曲「Streetwalker」がベースになっています。その後、1988年からアレンジが進められ、1990年にはデモ版が完成。さらに手が加えられ、現在の「Dangerous」としてアルバムに収録されました。2004年発売の『The Ultimate Collection』には、このデモバージョンも収録されています。

実はアルバムから10枚目のシングルとして発売される予定でしたが、1993年に起きた一連の騒動やマイケルの体調悪化などの影響で発売中止になってしまいました。そのためMVも制作されておらず、シングルとして世に出ることはありませんでした。ファンの間では「シングル化されていたらどうなっていたんだろう」と語られることも多い1曲です。

ちなみにライブでは1993年のアメリカン・ミュージック・アワードで初披露され、その後の「Dangerous World Tour」や「HIStory World Tour」でも定番ナンバーとして披露されました。『Smooth Criminal』などを組み合わせた迫力満点のダンスパフォーマンスは、今でもマイケルを代表するステージの一つとして高い人気があります。
