「Top of the World」はカナダの歌手であるショーン・メンデスが2022年にリリースした楽曲です。

映画『Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile(邦題: シング・フォー・ミー、ライル)』のサウンドトラック曲としてリリースされましたが、単なる映画の1曲で終わらせるには惜しいほどいい曲だと個人的に思っています。

ミュージカルのように、希望と期待感をこれでもかと煽ってくれる本曲。それでは和訳を見ていきましょう！

Top of the World/Shawn Mendes 解説

映画『シング・フォー・ミー、ライル』の中では序盤に流れる本曲。主人公の少年ジョシュと距離を縮められずにいるワニのライルが、夜のニューヨークの屋上で、初めて歌う場面で流れます。

ソングライターにはブロードウェイや映画音楽で有名な作家陣が参加していることもあり、曲の展開にも物語を進めていく『ミュージカルっぽい雰囲気』がある気がしますね。

ちなみに日本語版でライルの声はあの大泉洋が当ててます(笑) 歌も大泉洋が当ててるんですよね。さすが大泉さん、CDリリースしてるだけあって結構上手い！でもちょっとなんだか笑えてきます。ファンの方はぜひご覧ください。
