Shivers/Ed Sheeran 解説

実は「Shivers」は、もともとアルバム『=』のリードシングルになる予定だった楽曲です。しかし最終的には「Bad Habits」が先行シングルに選ばれ、「Shivers」は2作目としてリリースされました。エド本人もかなりお気に入りの曲だったようで、「絶対に妥協したくなかった」と語っていて、普段は短時間で曲を書き上げることが多い彼が、この曲には3日もかけて制作したそうです。

「Shivers」は『÷（Divide）』ツアーの終盤、サフォークの農場に設けた即席スタジオで制作されました。ツアーを終えたタイミングで生まれた曲ということもあり、新しいアルバムの方向性を決める1曲になったようです。実際、エドはこの曲を書いたことで「今回のアルバムは『-』ではなく『=』だ」と確信したと話しています。
